Frequency (kHz)

Fiber pulse rate

Pulse frequency is how many laser pulses a fiber source fires per second, in kHz. Low frequency = fewer, harder hits (deep, matte marks); high frequency = a smoother stream (polish, anneal, color).

On a MOPA, frequency and pulse width together are the palette — the settings library’s stainless chart includes a starting frequency for exactly that reason.
