CO2 laser
10,600nm acrylic/glass
A CO2 laser excites gas in a glass tube to emit 10,600nm light, steered by three mirrors to a moving head. Organics — wood, acrylic, leather, paper, glass surfaces — absorb it beautifully.
It is the production class: single-pass cuts through stock a diode chews at, and flame-polished acrylic edges no other desktop source matches. The tube is a consumable (multi-year, but budget for it).
