Anodized aluminum
Marks white, no removal
Anodized aluminum carries a dyed oxide layer; the laser bleaches the dye, leaving a permanent white/silver mark with zero metal removal. Diodes, fibers, and IR modules all do it well.
It is the gateway metal product: business-card blanks, dog tags, and tumbler-adjacent goods, all markable on machines that cannot touch bare steel.
