The verdict

Two value-class desktop CO2s a few hundred dollars apart, and the spec rows land close: similar tubes, similar cooling stories, both rotary-ready. The P2S takes the camera workflow and bed size; the Polar 2 frequently undercuts on street price and leans happily on third-party software.

Decision rule from the running-cost desk: if camera-driven placement and the accessory line will actually see use, the P2S spread is worth it. If the machine will sit in a workflow you already own, the Polar 2’s dollars-per-watt is the quiet win.
